SurfWax InDepth Help: Using My Personal Searcherú   [ QuickHelp ]

If under Preferences, you have Personalize? checked Yes, SurfWax automatically maintains two alphabetic lists based on your use: Site Focuswords and Search Criteria. For privacy purposes, your lists are linked solely by a unique random number; the number cannot be linked to you. In early 2000, My Personal Searcher will offer revolutionary new pattern-based features -- faster, with more convenient ways for you to "personalize" your search.

Site FocusWords

Search Criteria

Lists the FocusWords you select using the red button from any web page's SiteSnap. Often a SiteSnap will reveal FocusWords that you have not thought of but that are relevant to your search topic. SurfWax does not retain a list of FocusWords when you use the focus icon.   Lists the actual search criteria strings, e.g. "Abraham Lincoln" that you searched on. There are often search topics (criteria) that you want to revisit or move back to the Search criteria list to re-word -- this feature makes it easy.

Click on the focus icon to Focus that word. Click on the word itself to move it to the Search criteria list.

To Delete selected FocusWords or Search Criteria, click on the Trash Can icon to the left of the word. You can delete as many items as you want before re-selecting My Personal Searcher. To delete all the items on either list, click on the large Trash Can ALL at the top of the respective list.
